Who Am I?

In my free time I enjoy the company of my loved ones. I have a German Shepard mix named Elliot. We enjoy camping, kayaking and playing in the yard. I enjoy reading and spending time in the kitchen. I am a recent graduate at Harper College studying Community Health. I care deeply about mental health and building a healthier and more compassionate society.

Some of my favorite books include

  • All the light we cannot see by Anthony Doerr
  • The book women of troublesome creek by Kim Michele Richardson
  • Where the crawdads sing by Delia Owens
  • Educated by Tara Westover
  • The giver of stars by Jojo Moyes

How do I see myself within the clients’ journeys?

As a client care coordinator, I understand the impact mental illness has on everything from your personal life, personal relationships and professional success. In my role, I advocate for the understanding of mental care. I encourage our potential new clients to take a deep dive into what they would like to work on and what kind of care they would need. As a client care coordinator I ensure that individuals receive the support they need to strive emotionally and psychologically.

What is the best part of my job?

As a client care coordinator, I am dedicated to providing empathetic guidance and resources to empower individuals to prioritize their mental well-being. Having my own experiences with mental health, I bring a depth of compassion to each client interaction. I understand the courage it takes to seek support, the importance of being heard, and the warmth in being understood. I take pride in ensuring our clients feel validated, supported and empowered on their journey towards self-discovery and healing.

Why is mental health so important to me?

How we think and feel is dominant to the way we live our lives. The first step to feeling better, both inside and out, is recognizing the significance of mental health. Prioritizing mental health stimulates strength, enhances coping mechanisms and pushes each of us to live a more fulfilling life. Mental health is just as important as your physical health. Mental illness can affect anyone anytime, it doesn’t have restrictions on age, race, who you are, what you have been through or what you have done.

As someone who has faced their own battles with mental illness, while continuing to work, I understand the challenges in all aspects of mental health. My journey has put me down a path to help others take steps in their own journey with mental illness.

“Break free from fear, guilt and shame, break free from that little voice in your head that tells you that you’re not good enough.”
