Trauma Therapy Intensives

A trauma therapy intensive is an extended therapeutic session that focuses on addressing and healing trauma-related issues. Unlike traditional one-hour therapy sessions, a trauma therapy intensive allows individuals to delve deep into their trauma experiences and work through them intensively over a longer period of time. This extended format provides a more comprehensive and immersive therapeutic experience, allowing for greater exploration, processing, and healing of trauma. The extended duration of a trauma therapy intensive allows individuals to establish a deeper connection in trauma processing and provides more time to address complex trauma-related issues in a supportive and safe environment. Clients will be assessed and treatment models will be chosen based on the individual’s needs. Intensives are facilitated by therapists who have been trained in all of the following models: Brainspotting, EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and is Internal Family Systems-informed.

Prenatal Therapy Intensives (offered to individuals and couples)-

Prenatal therapy intensives are specialized therapy programs designed to support expecting parents in addressing various emotional and psychological aspects of their pregnancy journey. These intensives offer a safe and nurturing environment for parents-to-be to work through anxiety, fear, and apprehensions related to pregnancy and childbirth. They provide a space for expecting parents to explore their dynamics with their partners, enhancing communication and understanding. Prenatal therapy intensives also assist in establishing healthy boundaries with family members and creating plans for delivery and postpartum support. By participating in these intensives, expecting parents can alleviate stress, gain emotional resilience, and develop a strong foundation for their parenting journey.

Couples Therapy Intensives

A couples therapy intensive is an extended and immersive therapeutic experience designed specifically for couples who want to address and improve their relationship dynamics. Unlike traditional one-hour therapy sessions, a couples therapy intensive provides couples with an extended period of time to work through their relationship issues in a more concentrated and focused manner. This format allows couples to engage in intensive and in-depth conversations, explore underlying patterns and dynamics, and develop new strategies for enhancing their communication, trust, and emotional connection. The longer duration of a couples therapy intensive provides ample time for couples to dive deep into their relationship challenges and make significant progress towards healing and strengthening their bond, without the frequent interruptions of ending sessions after only an hour. Interventions and skills utilized are provided through the Gottman Method.

Experiential Therapy Intensives

Experiential therapy intensives offer a unique approach to therapy by incorporating various activities and settings to enhance the therapeutic experience. These intensives aim to provide a hands-on and immersive therapy experience, allowing individuals to engage in therapeutic activities outside the traditional therapy room. Some examples of activities that may be included in experiential therapy intensives are:

1. Shopping: Engaging in shopping experiences can be a therapeutic way to explore personal preferences, self-expression, and decision-making. It can also provide opportunities for practicing budgeting skills, managing impulses, processing food or body image concerns, and coping with sensory overload.

2. Exercise: Physical activity is known to have numerous mental health benefits. Experiential therapy intensives may involve activities such as hiking, yoga, or engaging in other sources of mindful movement, which can help individuals build resilience, explore one’s relationship with their bodies, manage stress, improve self-esteem, and enhance overall well-being.

3. Cooking: Cooking can be a therapeutic and creative outlet, allowing individuals to express themselves through food preparation and explore their relationship with food, nutrition and self-care. Experiential therapy intensives may involve guided cooking experiences to promote mindfulness, collaboration, and healthy relationships with food.

4. Exposure to other activating settings: Experiential therapy intensives may include exposure to challenging or activating settings, such as public speaking engagements, occupational-related tasks, social events, or outdoor adventures. These experiences provide opportunities for individuals to manage their emotions while participating in values-based living, as well as build confidence in navigating unfamiliar or anxiety-inducing situations.

By incorporating these activities into experiential therapy intensives, individuals can engage in a holistic and immersive therapeutic process that promotes personal growth, self-awareness, meaningful and values-based living and the development of practical life skills.
